1. Information you choose to share
The participation form requires your name, email address, location (country or region), and at least one selection under “Which of these describe you?”. You can select more than one, including “Community member / interested supporter” or “Other”. Your selections remain private unless you choose one role or perspective for public acknowledgement.
Enter the country or region where you are currently based, in English if possible. Your location is self-described; there is no prescribed list. We preserve the wording you enter, apart from surrounding spaces, in your submission and any permitted public acknowledgement. Other languages are also accepted.
Your organisation, short introduction and areas in which you would like to contribute are optional. Ideas and suggestions are also optional when you become a supporting signatory. School, educator and collaboration enquiries require a brief description of what you would like to discuss; a sentence or two is enough. Parents, students, educators, researchers and interested community members can participate without an academic title or an institutional affiliation.
Please keep your contribution relevant to the initiative. Do not include confidential student records or sensitive personal information in an introduction or suggestion.
2. Recording your participation
A successful online submission is recorded privately for review by the authorised coordinator. Your on-screen receipt confirms that the website has recorded it; save that reference for later enquiries.
If the form cannot confirm that your submission was recorded, it will explain the problem. You can retry or contact the founding coordinator. An incomplete form or an unsent email is not a recorded submission.
The coordinator reviews records through an authenticated administration area and may export them for follow-up. Limited technical records are used to operate the service and reduce duplicate or abusive requests.
3. How your information is used
Your details are used to record your support, respond to your enquiry, understand the perspectives represented in the founding community, and coordinate opportunities you have expressed an interest in.
Introductions and suggestions help the founding team consider priorities and possible collaborations. They are not displayed publicly. Your email address and contribution interests also remain private. Only the single role or perspective you permit for public acknowledgement may be displayed; your other selections remain private.
Participation records are retained to manage these purposes. You may contact the coordinator to request a correction or removal.
4. Public acknowledgement is your choice
Supporting signatories must choose whether their support is acknowledged publicly or kept private. Neither option is selected automatically. If you choose public acknowledgement, you permit IAAIE to display your name, location (country or region), organisation if provided, and one chosen role or perspective if included as an individual supporting signatory. Only details you provide and permit will be included. You are equally welcome to keep your support private.
When you choose public acknowledgement, the form suggests one role from your selections, giving priority to roles directly connected to education. You can choose another selected role or “Do not show a role” before submitting. A preview shows the details proposed for your public acknowledgement.
Public acknowledgement requires both your permission and coordinator approval. Submitting the form does not publish your details automatically. Your email address, introduction, suggestions, other perspective selections and contribution interests are never included in this public-listing permission. A role will not be added to an earlier submission without permission covering that role.
Locations and roles are self-described by supporters and are provided for identification and community coordination. A role or perspective does not establish an IAAIE appointment. An organisation is listed for identification only. Your personal support does not imply that the organisation has endorsed or joined the initiative. School, educator and collaboration enquiries remain private.
If we would like to publish a quotation or suggestion you have shared, we will ask for separate permission. You may ask the coordinator to change your public-listing choice or remove your listing.
5. Updates and invitations
The form offers a separate, optional choice to receive IAAIE updates and invitations. This option is not selected automatically, and you can support the declaration without subscribing.
The founding team may respond to the particular enquiry or contribution interests you submit. General updates are sent according to your separate preference. Contact the coordinator whenever you would like to change that preference.
6. What signing means
Signing expresses personal support for the vision and guiding principles of the founding declaration. It is free and creates no financial obligation.
Signing does not automatically confer formal association membership, an advisory or governance appointment, or a credential. Co-initiator invitations, advisory participation, governance arrangements and individual collaborations are confirmed separately.
IAAIE is in its founding stage. Future membership and programme arrangements will be announced as they are developed. The participation form does not request payment information.
7. Corrections, removal and questions
To correct your information, request removal of a participation record or public listing, change your communication preference, or ask a question, email paul.pu@mail.utoronto.ca.
Include your receipt reference if you have one and describe the change you would like. This notice may be updated as the founding initiative develops.
